April 2001
- The results of the Know-Net project will be presented by Ron Young at the Knowledge Management Conference
and Exhibition 2001, the UK's leading KM event. The event is set to cut through the hype associated with knowledge management and to deliver practical information
about how knowledge leaders can use KM strategies, practices and tools to help boost the bottom line.
Ron Young will be the chair of the KM conference.
March 2001
- The results of the Know-Net project were disseminated at the CeBIT 2001 exhibition,
which took place in Hannover, 22-28 March 2001.CeBIT exhibition is the world's leading ICT event and this year attracted
more than 830.000 visitors and 8.000 exhibitors.
November 2000
- The Know-Net approach was presented by Gregory Mentzas at the Knowledge Management Initiative Conference 2000, (16-17 November, Athens).
The scope of the Conference was to provide useful guidance and information to the experts and the industry
as well as to contribute to the awareness of the potential of Knowledge Management (KM) in Greece and Southeastern Europe.
- The Know-Net solution was presented at KM Europe 2000 ,
(20-22 November 2000, Brussels), the largest Knowledge Management exhibition in Europe. The following
presentations took place:
- "The Two Faces of Knowledge Management: Towards a Holistic Approach"

- "Integrating the Product and Process Perspectives in KM: The Know-Net and Lever Projects"
Project Presentation by Gregoris Mentzas (NTUA and PLANET) and Ron Young ( Knowledge Associates)
June 2000
- A demonstration by FHBB of the individual KM approach in Know-Net entitled: "Visualizing Individual Know-How for Reuse, Cooperation and Learning"
will be made within 22nd international Conference on Software Engineering, 7-9 June 2000, Limerick, Ireland.
- Know-Net approach will be presented to top management executives from Greek companies and organisations
during a KM briefing event organised by Planet (Astir Hotel, Athens, 14 June 2000).Mr Ron Young from Knowledge Associates
will be one of the main speakers at this event.
- Know-Net holistic framework will be presented by Gregory Mentzas at the executive seminar "KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT: Unlocking the True Potential of Your Organisation"
organised by Athens University of Business and Economics (Athens, Ledra Marriott Hotel, 29-30 June 2000).

May 2000
- The Know-Net approach was presented in an article by Gregory Mentzas entitled "The two faces of Knowledge Management",
which was published in the International Consultant's Guide
.
- The individual knowledge management approach of Know-Net was presented
by FHBB with a paper entitled: "Visual Discussions with MailTack"
in the 1st Annual Extreme Innovation Conference, organised by KMC International, 8-10 May 2000, Washington D.C
- An article referring to the application of Know-Net at NAI GW was published
in the Greek business magazine, "Executive Know-How" (May 2000).
- Know-Net was present at the Knowledge Management with Intranets" seminar
(London, The Grange Holborn Hotel, 8-11 May 2000). Ron Young of Knowledge Associates International was the event leader.
Know-Net had two presentations in the conference:
An overview of Know-Net was given in Ron Young's Keynote address entitled "Managing and Developing Knowledge Assets Using Intranets".
The topics of Ron's presentation included:
- Know-Net - an EC funded project for KM using Intranet technologies
- Identifying critical knowledge assets to develop in the organisation
- Intranet based processes to develop knowledge assets
- Critical new intranet based knowledge worker skills
- Knowledge asset measuring and reporting systems
- Knowledger 3 - a case study,
The experience from the application of Know-Net in a real-world setting was presented by Colin Manders, Director, Business Space Group of NAI Gooch Webster in his presentation entitled "Icebergs, Pubs and the Wheel World - A case study of a KM initiative in a commercial property consultancy".
The topics of Colins's presentation included:
- Merger and Culture shock
- Identifying the issues
- KM - what is the point?
- Participation in the KnowNet project - what we have learned
- The business case - what's in it for us (WIIFU)
- Tentative progress, issues and hurdles
